Talk about love at first hearing. The Wallflowers' "Bringing Down the Horse," the follow-up to the band's eponymous '92 debut has even better songs this time around if you can believe it. Vocally, Jakob Dylan still sounds like a weird synthesis of Bruce Cockburn and the elder Dylan run through the Heartbreakers' monitors.
Fortunately, the curiosity factor that attends the sire of royalty has finally dissipated enough for us to hear the instrumental genius at the core of the Wallflowers' sound.
